Greetings Reader !!!
So glad you are here and a part of Team RunRev. This month is special for me. Come along as I share why and give you some updates on what is to come.
THE Flying Pig
This race holds a very special place in my heart. I first ran the 1/2 marathon in 2016 and followed with the full in 2018. Cincinnati comes out in force and makes this a HUGE block party. II think you will be hard pressed to find a race quite like it.
This year, I ran the 5K only. My hip issues made it near impossible to train and I didn’t want to be injured and out longer by doing something stupid and pushing myself farther than I should.
I got to say HI to some old friends, met some new friends, and generally had a blast. This is a race you don’t want to miss!
Speaking of that.. Come join me in 2026. I’ll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of my first pig event by doing the 4-way with extra cheese. I’m excited and can’t wait to have all you join me there.

Warm-ups
So many runners skip the warm-up. They want to make the most of the time and want to jump right in it. Personally, I’d rather see you cut the workout or run by 5 minutes and make time for warming up rather than skip it all together. It will make your fitness journey so much easier.
- Easy Walk – if a slower runner, take 5 minutes and just walk a little to get the muscles and blood moving.
- Easy Run – Take a few moments and just run extremely easy, about 1-2 min./mile slower than your easy pace.
- Dynamic Workout – These are the A Skips, B Skips, and side steps just to name a few. Don’t know what any of that is? Then hit reply and I’ll fill you in.
