The Year is officially Half Over

RunRev Coaching

Outrunning Grief & Depression

Hello Reader,

Time for reflection

We are officially halfway through 2025. This is a good time to reflect on where you have been and where you are going. I know that is what I have done with RunRev Coaching.

Where have I been

  • January – After almost 2 years, the website (www.runrevcoaching.com) got a major update. The color scheme was updated, and the focus was improved.
  • February – Joined the Preble County Chamber of Commerce.
  • March – Created Sweat Rate Calculator
  • April – Updated my Styrd Power Coach Certification and my SafeSport training.
  • May – Attended the Flying Pig Weekend
  • June – Gave a presentation at the Ultimate Race Expo.

Where am I going

  • Group Run – In the very near future I will be starting a coffee and run/walk group event. Keep your eyes open for more details.
  • Podcasts – I will be sharing more about me and my journey in the coming months. I will update you here but also you can see all my past and present podcasts and media on the website, at any time.

New Core Values

During the coach’s conference in November 2024, I began thinking about what the core values are for RunRev Coaching and my coaching philosophy. It took me a while, but I am pleased to announce that I have finally identified my 5 core principles. Here they are:

The 5 values are not independent but interconnect. Each one supports the other. If one breaks, it can and does affect the other 4.

Coach’s Tip

Be mindful of the heat and humidity this summer! Here are 5 thimgs you can do to be safe.

  1. Hydrate – You will likely need more fluids in the summer
  2. Use the Treadmill – There is no shame in moving inside
  3. Electrolytes – Be mindful that with increased sweat means increased electrolytes lost. Make sure to replenish.
  4. Morning – Run in the morning when it is cooler when it is >90 F.
  5. Ice – You can put ice cubes in your arm sleeves or hat/visor to help cool you off. Freezing the water bottle can help keep it cooler longer.
